Catching Up!

Yes, I've fallen behind in blogging again... big surprise! Things have been so crazy here, I can hardly keep up! The house came off the market for a month so that we could put some new carpet in and re-work our plan to sell and buy. It's going back up on the market soon at a lower price with new carpet and a possible incentive. The girls are back in school and while that means I gain a few hours to myself a week, I swear the work for me doubles and it doesn't equal out!
Sonya has been taking more and more independent steps! She did have a few fractures along the way and she will be having surgery to rod her other arm soon, just as soon as she kicks this pneumonia she's picked up. Yep, like I said busy!

Here is the past few months broken up into 6 posts. Enjoy!

Hey there =)

I have never commented on your blog. You have a beautiful family I am sorry to burst in like that. I found your blog through google and I have a rather unusual request ;)
I am advocating for a little girl with OI who resides in a Russian orphanage at the moment. (You can see her profile here: http://reecesrainbow.org/15506/bethany). Although there are almost 10k available for her adoption, no family has committed to her yet. I think this is due to the fact that people who are not familiar with OI must find it a very scary condition. That's why I would like to ask you whether you maybe know a family that is familiar with OI as well as interested in adoption. I already wrote an email to the OI foundation but since I have no network at all I thought you maybe know someone.
If you cannot or do not want to help me, I totally understand and I again want to apologize for bursting in like that.

Many greetings!

Caroline

Hi Caroline! Bethany is beautiful! You did the right thing by contacting the OIF. Any family living with OI following the OIF will get notification of OI children up for adoption in their newsletters. This too gets passed down to our support groups. I wish I had the resources to adopt. I know it is very costly. If I had the money and more space in my very cramped tiny townhome I would do it in a heartbeat! I hope and pray that every child finds their forever family! Best wishes and keep advocating! Sincerely, Melissa

I just read all the new posts. The beach pictures are gorgeous and looking at beach pictures in November totally lifted my spirits. Zoe is ten. Wow. I cannot even believe it. Nor do I envy your soon to be journey into teen years and girls and drama. Ugh. Thinking back makes me shudder. I love the DW pics. Especially the one with Simon putting his arm around Sonya. Sorry that you are not happy with Zoe and Sonya's experience with school so far. Thankfully Akela is loving her teacher. I love that you stick up for what you believe and say what you want about it. I missed pictures of these gorgeous ladies. I also love the new carpet in your house (yes I noticed). Miss you xoxo
