And here is a link back to my post on Sonya's first DI surgery which went horrible: I Hate DI
Sonya did very well this time and her new dentist did a wonderful job in fixing Sonya's teeth! He truly cares about my sweetie and has worked on other OI children who have DI which made me comfortable. All of Sonya's remaining teeth were capped with silver. Her teeth that show when she smiles are all faced with beautiful bright white! We had to go out of our comfort zone (our hospital) to have this work done, but I had to do what I had to do to get the best for my Sonya!
Here's the comparison photos!!!
BEFORE: Bottom teeth are yellow, chipping, breaking and wearing down.
BEFORE: Top canines and back molars are yellowed and wearing down.
BEFORE: Note : top front four teeth were extracted and two molar caps were placed in the previous surgery.
BEFORE: Sonya's almost toothless smile.
AFTER: Beautiful bottom caps!!!
AFTER: Beautiful top caps!!!
AFTER: Sonya's pretty smile!!! She hasn't mastered this quite yet with a full mouth of teeth!
She's recovering very well from this 12th surgery! She is eating great and regular foods now! I can't wait to see more improvement in her diet when she is 100% healed! Maybe we will be able to finally give up that Pediasure?!
Thank you everyone for keeping Sonya in your prayers and thoughts!!

Her teeth look fabulous! WOW! I am so happy that even though you stepped out of your comfrot zone, that Sonya's teeth came out amazing! YAY! She must be enjoying food so much more! Also just read your birthday blog post. Where did you get the cardigans? I wish they made one in my size! What great decorations, outfits, cakes, wow! What a birthday party! I hear you on kids' parties getting crazy!
So beautiful Melissa! Cayden has a wonderful dentist too! Lucky kids! Bridget posted the Wishbone video on her blog and we believe we see Sonya in it!! Adorable! We are about to celebrate one year "Break~Free with Cayden on March 16th!! Have a wonderful week!
She is beautiful! I anxiously await the day that we have to go through that too - Both nerves and excitement! My little man's teeth are much like Miss Sonya's were, and it's a near-constant worry for me these days thinking about how it will all turn out. Good to see that it can all turn out okay in the end! :-)
Beautiful!! So happy that this dentist is SO much better than the last! Her teeth look amazing! So happy that she'll be able to eat so much more now too!
