Brigantine Beach 2009

We had an absolute blast in Brigantine NJ this past week! We love returning to the same "pink" house every year and relaxing for a whole week at the beach! I managed to snap a few pretty pictures to replace last years pictures that adorn our family room wall. Comparing the pic's from last year of the kids to this year's pic's was interesting! Zoe and Akela haven't changed too much and Sonya has stayed the same size but her face has totally matured!

This is the best shot of the 3 of them! It's almost impossible to get all 3 of them to look at the camera at the same time and smile!

I love this picture of Sonya looking up!

I tried to get a few shots down on the dunes... this was the best shot of the 3 of them there!

Mommy and Sonya.
Daddy and Sonya.

Zoe hasn't been too keen on her photo being taken lately. She has been turning her head whenever I come around with the camera. "Don't you have enough photo's of me already?", she asks and I reply "never!" Ahhh... and so it begins...

We had some great beach weather minus the 2 rainy and overcast days. We made sure to get out there on the nice days and enjoy the surf! Seriously, I know I'm a bit biased but isn't she too darn cute?!

Yep, they have matching swimsuits too! They actually have another set of matching swimsuits from my grandmother too! Geez, what stylish gals I have!

Sonya took naps on the beach each day! She never naps while at home! I guess the ocean sound, the nice breeze and the promise of cuddling with her mommy just won her over!

"Ahhhhh! Don't put me directly on the sand without a beach blanket! What were you thinking?!"

No trip is complete without a trip to the boardwalk to have fun on the rides, eat some yummy Mack and Manco's pizza and do some shopping! The girls were completely paranoid about the seagulls stealing their food after they witnessed a particularly gutsy seagull steal a whole slice of pizza from a guy standing by us, turning the whole section of the boardwalk into a crazed seagull feeding frenzy! Not to mention the poop that is pretty much inevitable. But alas, none of us had been pooped on or had our food stolen. It was a different story the year that I was pregnant with Sonya, 2 times I was pooped on! Some people say it's good luck, I say "EWWWW GROSS!!!"

Cousin's Pernalyn, Nicole and Garrett came along too! I think Garrett wanted to climb on in with Sonya! Seeing this photo, I realize that Sonya really needs a stroller that fits her better! She looks like she is totally struggling! For all of you who are probably wondering, Garrett is 13 months old and Sonya is 18 months old. Garrett is a big boy though, just like my Zoe was and still is in the 95th percentile. Quite a difference since Sonya is in the 3rd percentile! Nicole, you are going to have one tall and handsome boy on your hands that the girls are going to go wild over! It's too cute seeing these two monkeys together! Sonya is so lucky to have cousins that are close in age with her!

You should have seen some of the looks that I got when people saw my "baby" eating a huge lolly pop instead of drinking a bottle! "Com'mon people, what? A lolly pop isn't a good substitute for a bottle?" I didn't even bother with the stares and hushed comments.

Sonya was so happy that she got to go on a ride for the first time! She rode the carousel and loved it!!!!

I look like I have a giant ferris wheel coming out of my head, but I loved the shot of me with Akela and Sonya as we waited for Zoe and daddy to get off of the big crazy hang gliders!

It was a bit tough this year as far as the rides go. Zoe got told for the first time that she was too big to go on one of the kiddie rides and I could tell that Sonya felt a bit left out that she couldn't go on anything except for the carousel. Akela felt lonely when Zoe couldn't ride with her and Zoe wished Akela could go on the bigger rides with her. So there's not too many super happy faces in our boardwalk photos this year and I think we may have to work out something different next year. I didn't like seeing Sonya feeling like she was left out on all the fun.

We went to the Marine Mammal Stranding Center on one of the overcast days to see if they were nursing any sea critters back to good health before they were released into the ocean. They had a sea turtle but he was not up for having any visitors. We did learn that a very special seal was just released into the ocean 2 weeks ago after Ian's mom, Aunt Patty, cousins Cindy and Wendy found her on the beach back on May 3rd! Cindy named her "Beached Girl". Here we are in front of the Marine Mammal Stranding Center next to a huge anchor.

What do you get when you take away from Sonya the empty cup of blue raspberry water ice that she completely devoured?...............
.............One really sour puss!

We love Aunt B's ice cream and water ice shop down the street from our "pink" house. Looks like Sonya wanted some more! Hahaha! Thanks for checking in! To all of my blogging buddies, I promise I will catch up on all the updates that I missed while on vaca! I also have about 300 some emails to still sift through. Boy, I need a lap top!

You had an awesome vacation. Your girls are so pretty. That last one of Sonya is too much for words. She'll love that one when she is older.

Oh my goodness! Look like so much fun to stay at boardwalk/beach. We live about an hour from Ocean City. I was thinking about spending a week at Ocean City someday. You all look wonderful. Your girls are beautiful! I'm so happy for Sonya. ~ Dawn ~

Looks like you had a blast. Great pics of the girls. Kylie is also hitting this phase where she doesn't want her picture taken, not sure what that is about. Especially love the pic of Sonya with her blue lips, priceless!

Sonya and Nate are too much alike. Neither will hold still or look at the camera for pictures. Melissa you always dress the girls so pretty. Vacation looked like a good and now you can be deemed "Lady Liberty". LOL!! The rides were a bummer for Zoe. Audrey too has reached the point where she can't do the kiddie rides. But where does she go? Nothing seems appropiate after that. Oh well, glad to have you safely back home.

I love all of the pictures on your family room wall! Sonya is such a little girl now - no more baby face! All three girls are adorable as ever! I'm glad you guys had such a great vacation and that Sonya got to enjoy the sand this time!

Great pics and it looks like you had a great time. I love the matching outfits. My mom used to dress my sister and I in the same clothes. We hated it at the time but now I think it made for such cute pics. Sonya looks great. You would never know she just had a cast removed.

What great pictures! And I love how the girls are always in matching outfits. The picture of Sonya with the blue mouth is priceless. Caty once had a blue sucker and her tongue stayed that color the rest of the day. I'm so glad that you enjoyed your vacation - I sure could use one!

I am so behind on reading. OK first off you have the three most stylish girls ever. I just love them. All their outfits are amazing, they always look so neat and pretty with bows in their hair. It looks like you had a fabulous time on vacation. Great pictures as always. Rides are a tricky thing. I think after age five most of the amusement parks will be a no- go for awhile as Pres may feel left out.
